MegaLAN

Next MegaLAN: 8-9 Oct, 2011. Event sponsors: Gametraders Morley (Galleria), Tactics and Anyware.

Welcome gamers!

The MegaLAN is our premier event of the semester. It’s your chance to socialise with other people who do what a lot of you love.. GAMING! Attendance is always high and has a tendency to sell out quickly.

Entry is always $10 for CASSA members and $15 for non-members which can be prepaid or paid at the event (although not recommended).

First time attending?
Not to worry, here’s a checklist of what to bring to the event:

  • Computer/Laptop
  • Monitor (no CRTs please)
  • Cables (Power, USB, Ethernet)
  • Power Board (No surge protected boards please)
  • Headphones
  • Any gaming accessories you require
  • Money
  • Deodorant
  • Sleeping gear if desired

You will have enough space for your monitor, keyboard/mouse and case which can sit either on the table or underneath.

How long does it run for?
The MegaLAN usually starts at around 10am on the first day and most people arrive by lunch time. It carries on throughout the day and night, ending the following morning (most people leave around lunch time).

Food
You can either bring your own food or bring money to buy food. We will be selling the usual cheap drinks and candy as we do from our clubroom. Sometimes, pizza runs are organised or people go out to get their own food but responsibility of what you eat belongs to the attendee.

Tournaments
Prizes are available to the best of gamers who participate in the various tournaments we run at the MegaLAN. Detailed tournament information is generally released closer to the date of the LAN.

How do I reserve a seat?
Details on how to book a seat or area for each MegaLAN is released close to the date of the upcoming LAN and is posted onto our website. So keep an eye on the homepage for any announcements.

Where is it?
The LAN has been traditionally held in building 14 of the ECU Mt. Lawley Campus in rooms 114-116. It is a fairly large area with space for about 70 attendees. Never been to our campus before? Here’s a link to Google Maps. The actual building is located towards the Alexander Drive side, with parking access available from the north side (Central Ave). It’s next to the big blue building (Bl. 10) which contains the eLab. For more details, please visit ECU’s interactive map.

Any changes to the location will be posted onto our website.
